Dr. Amanda Desowitz - Veterinarian

${name}

Dr. Desowitz grew up in Southern California with a menagerie of animals, but dogs will always hold a special place in her heart. She graduated from UCLA with a Bachelor of Science in Ecology, Behavior, and Evolution. Dr. Desowitz then continued to foster her passion for animals by volunteering at a local wildlife rehabilitation center and working as a veterinary assistant at a local small animal hospital. She then went on to study veterinary medicine and ultimately graduated with her doctorate from UC Davis after four intense, but fun, years of study.

Dr. Desowitz joined the Marina Hills team in July 2020. She enjoys developing a relationship with her clients and their furry family members. Dr. Desowitz is interested in behavior medicine and strives to create a fear-free experience for all of the pets she cares for. She is constantly learning and challenging herself so she can continue to develop and provide the latest treatments for her patients.

Out of the hospital, Dr. Desowitz cares for an older (but young at heart) German Shepherd mix. She enjoys spending time outdoors hiking, but is also a cinephile and can spend hours on the couch for movie marathons.
